Breakthrough Decisions that Build the Business in 20-Minutes

In 2026, Stacey Holsinger, Owner of Steel Toe Communications and Producer, teamed up with Christina May, Owner of Illumine8 and host, to launch The Breakout Moment.
The Breakout Moment is a sharp, 20-minute, case-study-driven podcast built for established B2B owners stuck in the “messy middle” — the stage where growth stalls, revenue plateaus, and systems start to strain. Each episode delivers practical, real-world strategies to help leaders push past ceilings and scale with intention.
Both came into this with deep experience in long-form content. Stacey spent four years hosting and producing The Morning Huddle Construction Show, interviewing more than 100 A/E/C business owners and industry leaders worldwide on the issues shaping the future of construction. She also helped launch and produce the Build Your Path podcast, which explores how people get involved in the construction industry, for the Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation, which continues to run today.
Christina previously led the Built to Market Podcast, focused on practical marketing and business growth strategies for firms in the A/E/C industry.
Now based in Frederick, Maryland, the two conduct in-person, case-study-style interviews where business owners in A/E/C — and beyond — share the real stories behind how they scaled, stalled, adjusted, and ultimately broke through.
Launching March 2026. Sponsored by Genesis AEC, Where Science Meets the Built Environment.
Break the ceiling. Fix what’s stuck. Build what’s next.
Interested in being a guest? Here’s what it takes:
-
You can travel to our studio in Frederick, Maryland for an in-person recording.
-
You’re a business owner past the startup phase.
We’re talking established businesses with revenue, team, and real stakes — not side hustles testing the waters. -
You’re open about numbers and decisions.
Not necessarily exact revenue, but real context. What changed? What did it cost? What did you risk? Surface-level stories don’t help anyone. -
You’re willing to unpack one defining Breakout Moment that shaped your company — the real story, lessons included
-
You’re willing to promote the episode. Shared audiences win. If someone won’t push it to their network, it’s not a fit
-

While our roots run deep in the A/E/C world, we welcome business owners outside the industry to apply. As graduates of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, we understand that growth challenges — and breakout moments — don’t care what industry you’re in. The crossover is real, and the lessons translate.
